    Measuring elastic modulus of wood using vibration method

    • In order to study basic method for measuring elastic modulus of wood using vibration method,the theoretical basis of measurement was introduced and a testing system consisting of instrumented hammer,accelerometer and computer,etc.was built up.Also,the study of basic measuring method was conducted. It is found that transverse vibration method can get natural frequency values of wooden specimen effectively,while longitudinal vibration method can not.In transverse vibration test,the distance between impacting point and detecting point should be as far as possible,i.e.the two points should situate near to two ends of specimen.Compared with traditional bending method,the elastic modulus tested by vibration method are little higher.
