    Virtual plant growth simulation based on illumination model.

    • Virtual plant growth simulation is a hot research area of digital agriculture and forestry. In order to consider plant physiological characteristics in growth process simulation, and a true reflection of the different illumination conditions influence plant tissues and organ morphological structures and the growth and development characteristics, we presented a dynamic succession growth algorithm of plant organ morphology structure based on illumination model. By using the bi-cubic Bezier curved surface, we can simulate the plant leaf tissues and organs. Moreover, the plant morphological structure and leaf arrangement distribution were described by introducing the impact factor of surface and the factor of plant light attribute. According to the light influence on the growth of plant leaves, we presented a dynamic succession method based on carbon-sinks and plant branching structure. In order to validate the effectiveness of algorithm, the growth model of Scindapsus aureus was described and the algorithm was effective. According to these plant physiological characteristic data in different illumination conditions, the algorithm was validated and obtained good realistic effect.
