Abstract:
Objective Comprehensive biodiversity data are fundamental to regional conservation and sustainable utilization. This study aims to further enrich the understanding of the flora of Beijing.
Method Based on field surveys, morphological comparisons, and phylogenomic analyses, the wild angiosperms in Beijing were investigated and taxonomically evaluated.
Result (1) We report two newly recorded genera, Luzula (Juncaceae) and Rhamnella (Rhamnaceae), and nine newly recorded species from Beijing: Polygonatum praecox, P. megaphyllum, Allium monanthum, Fallopia dumetorum, Orostachys japonica, Artemisia keiskeana, Stipa caucasica subsp. glareosa, L. rufescens and R. franguloides. We also provide new locality data for Carex ussuriensis which was previously recorded in literature but without specific localities, and for Kalopanax septemlobus, a municipally protected wild plant in Beijing, and the species information of Pseudostellaria in Beijing is corrected. (2) Based on integrative evidence from morphology and phylogenomic study, P. dabieshanense is synonymized under P. praecox.
Conclusion This study further enriches the knowledge of the wild angiosperm flora in Beijing, clarifies the taxonomic status of related taxa, and provides empirical support and a scientific basis for regional biodiversity conservation and the utilization of these economically important plant resources.
