Abstract
Factual water consumption status of Rhus chinensis M.and Rhus typhina L., which were sprayed with different concentrations of plant growth regulator "Shifengle" solution including 10, 20 and 40 mg/L (water is the control), was studied by using BP3400 Precision Balance etc.The daily water-consumption patterns of seedlings with different treatments were observed under normal water-supply and drought stress conditions. The results showed that the daily variations in quantity and the rates of water consumption of seedlings with various treatments were clearly when they were in normal water condition and light drought, and the highest daily quantity and rate of water consumption of seedlings ware occurred at 12:00-14:00.But when they were in moderate and severe drought, the daily variations became unclearly. The effects of "Shifengle" were various on two seedlings, 40 mg/L was better to R.chinensis and 20 mg/L had grater use to R.typhina.It is suggested that the present focusing on water consumption characteristics and consumption values of seedlings with various treatments in different water potential would reach the conclusion that "Shifengle" contributes to the diminishing of water consumption and the detainment of seedling drought. Therefore, it is beneficial to the afforestation and vegetation reconstruction under the conditions of water deficiency.
