  • Eco-tourism is a promising industry, allowing tourists to be on more intimate terms with nature, benefiting them both physically and psychologically and raising their ecological consciousness. It also enhances the self-supporting ability of nature reserves. However, eco-tourism has a number of negative effects on nature reserves. Our study expounds these negative effects and proposes some preventive countermeasures. Suggestions for improvements in eco-tourism are presented, in the hope that eco-tourism of nature reserves in China develops in a favorable direction.
