Screening and characterization of poly(butylenes succinate)-degrading fungi.

    • In order to obtain a highly efficient, poly (butylenes succinate) (PBS)-degrading fungus and investigate the characteristics of degradation, strain HJ03 was isolated from soil, screened with PBS emulsion selective medium and PBS film rescreened with a test. Strain HJ03 was identified as Alternaria sp. on the basis of morphological characters. The utilization of various carbon sources by strain HJ03 was examined and the result showed that the degradation activity of strain HJ03 on various carbon sources was glucose PBS emulsion glycerol soybean oil. Two fast-rising stages occurred during the degradation process. The optimum temperature for PBS film-degrading was 25 to 30℃, the optimum pH was 4.0 to 6.0, and the optimum PBS content was 1%.
