Overview of forest resources change detection methods using remote sensing techniques.

The changes of forest resources are important to global carbon cycle, climate change, biodiversity and environment. To acquire change information of forest resources accurately and timely is of great significance to scientific forest management and sustainable forest development. Remote sensing change detection methodologies applied in forest monitoring were summarized, and the advantages and shortcomings of different approaches and their application fields were analyzed. Finally, factors affecting the change detection of forest resources were discussed, some conclusions reached and recommendations proposed.
