Preparation of -pinene microcapsulation.

An -pinene slow-release microcapsule with complex coacervation was prepared with chitosan and Arabic gum as wall materials. The optimal preparation process condition was obtained by applying a single-factor test and orthogonal experiment. The results showed that the concentrations of wall material and Arabic gum were 0.2% and 3.5%, respectively, emulsifier content was 2.5%, ratio of core and wall material was 1:1, reaction temperature was 45 c, pH was 4.5, time for coacervation was 60 min and stirring revolutions 770 round/ min were the best preparation process conditions. Uniform spherical microcapsules had an average particle size of 5 m. The encapsulation efficiency and drug loading were up to (51.70 2.5)% and (42.11 2.3)%. The microcapsule can extend releasing time of 琢-pinene, prolong its activity of time, thus expand its scope of application.
