Abstract
The transformation of nitrogen compoundsin medium density fiber board (MDF), wood fiber and urea formaldehyde(UF) resin had been focused on in this work. Pyrolysis experiments were carried out in the laboratory-scale furnace. Pyrolysis samples and solid products were studied by XPS, FTIR and elemental analysis to study the pyrolysis process and product of MDF. The experimental results showed that the existing form of nitrogen compounds in MDF was mainly structure of primary amines and amide. The existing forms of nitrogen compounds in MDF char were pyridine and pyrrole. The nitrogen content of MDF was 5.01% before pyrolysis and 4.69% after pyrolysis with high residual rate. The pyrolysis solid product of MDF was alkalic because of UF adhesive.
