Floristic composition, structure and phytogeographic characteristics of Horsfieldia hainanensis community in Guangxi

    • The investigation of the Horsfieldia hainanensis community in Guangxi showed that there were 261 species of vascular plants, belonging to 196 genera and 94 families in 5 plots with an area of 6 100 m2. Families or genera of tropical distribution species were dominant. H. hainanensis community showed the nature of transition from tropical to subtropical zone. The herbs were rich in the community and accounted for 38.3% of the total species. Herb coverage and species richness were significantly and negatively correlated with canopy density and shrub coverage. Liana species of H. hainanensis community were abundant, accounting for 16.7% of the total species. Tree layer was dominated by evergreen broadleaved tree species. Euphorbiaceae, Myristicaceae, Sterculiaceae, Caesalpiniaceae, Moraceae and other typical tropical and subtropical families dominated in H. hainanensis community.
