Abstract
To fill the void in soil taxonomy in Jiufeng National Forest Park, Beijing, morphological and physico-chemical characteristics of 10 soil profiles at different elevations were analyzed. According to Chinese Soil Taxonomy (3rd edition), the soil profiles in the plots are classified into four groups, i.e., Hapli-Ustic Argosols, Ferri-Ustic Argosols, Hapli-Ustic Cambosols and Ferri-Ustic Cambosols, which are further divided into five subgroups, i.e., Ordinary Hapli-Ustic Argosols, Ordinary Ferri-Ustic Argosols, Ordinary Hapli-Ustic Cambosols, Stone Ferri-Ustic Cambosols and Other Hapli-Ustic Cambosols. Comparisons between Chinese Soil Taxonomy, Chinese Soil Genetic Classification, U. S. Soil Taxonomy and World Reference Base for Soil Resources are made and discussed.
