Abstract: “Digital Forestry” is an important branch of the“Digital Earth”. This article introduced the relative conception and the domestic research progress at present about “Digital Earth”, also proposed a general system structure of it. Then the authors analysed and summarized several key techniques on its construction as well as some possible occurring problems. Meanwhile, some resolvable schemes towards its limitation and defects were put forward. Finally, the bright future of the “Digital Forestry” was prospected.
