Abstract:
In order to optimize the adhesive application techniques, reduce cost and improve the utilization of adhesive, we compared different mixing processes of adhesive through an orthogonal experiment and different adhesive consumption on adhesive efficiency using single-factor tests. By using GluScan, we further quantified the effect of veneer adhesive efficiency. The results showed that the adhesive coverage was higher with the lower moisture content and higher adhesive consumption. The adhesive coverage increased with the increase of adhesive consumption, and drop size retained constant. An addition of flour improved the adhesive surface coverage of veneer. The adhesive coverage on the tight side was higher than that on the loose side, and drop size on both sides did not change significantly. The variation of the adhesive consumption on both sides of the veneer is small.
