Abstract:
In order to explore the mechanism of arbuscular mycorrhiza alleviate stress of aluminum(Al) toxicity on trees of Three Gorges Reservoir Area, mycorrhizal and non-mycorrhizal
Cinnamomum camphora(camphor tree) seedlings were exposed to
c(Al
3+) levels of 0,0.5,8,and 15 mmol/L for 10 weeks. The authors evaluated if the morphology, biomass and phosphorus contents of different organs of host plants could be responsible for the acid solutions with different
c(Al
3+) levels. The results showed that as far as morphology and biomass of aboveground and belowground and P content of different organs were concerned, mycorrhizal plants had higher resistance to Al than non-mycorrhizal ones at
c(Al
3+)=0 and 0.5 mmol/L in acid solutions;mycorrhizal plants appeared better or similar with non-mycorrhizal ones at
c(Al
3+)=8 and 15 mmol/L in acid solutions. The results indicate that AM fungal consortium confer some Al resistance to camphor tree seedlings.
