Abstract
In order to identify the differential proteins in compression wood cell wall formation and determine their function in wood formation, two-dimension difference in-gel electrophoresis was employed to separate and identify differential proteins in wood forming tissue of normal and compression wood. The gel electrophoresis map was higher performance. The differential expressed protein was analyzed and found that the changing fold of seventeen spots was more than twice. Mass identification was carried out using TOF-MS/ MS and the peptide fragments were searched in SwissProt database by MASCOT software. Seven proteins were confirmed, four were up regulated and three were down regulated in compression wood. These proteins were involved in lignin biosynthesis, stress response, cytoskeleton motion and lipid metabolism. Presumably, they were connected with the formation of compression wood.
