Advances in telomere and telomerase in plants.

Telomeres are the DNA sequences at the end of eukaryotic chromosomes. The maintenance and repairing of telomeres is carried out by the telomerases. Telomeres and telomerases are essential for maintaining the integrity of eukaryotic chromosomes. This paper reviews research progresses of telomeres and telomerases in recent years, particularly introduces their regulation roles in plant growth and development, refers to research works in our group. It could be helpful to understand and research telomeres and telomerases in plants.
